Towel lockers by Peter Cahill Engineering

Towel-Vend-Locker, developed and manufactured in Dublin by Peter Cahill Engineering, is a new electronic towel vending system created for golf clubs, leisure and health clubs.

The Towel-Vend-Locker is designed to securely and hygienically store towels in individual compartments for private use.

The lockers have a pin-pad system that gives access to the towels and can be set to a number of payment and usage options.

This can allow VIPs to get free access; charge costs directly to rooms or accounts, provide visitor access or allow special club and society access. It also can control and limit patron usage, allowing control of the laundry bill.

Francis Duffy, manager of Lucan Golf Club in Dublin, has implemented the locker system. He said by charging 2E per towel, towel usage has dropped by 80 per cent, making laundering cost savings.

Alternately, facilities, clubs and hotels may choose not to charge for the towels and offer a complimentary service, yet still reduce laundry expenses by restricting the number of towels each patron can use by programming the pin-system. The free standing units can be added to as demand requires, with no networking required between existing machines or computer systems.
